AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana alongside numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
